I believe a song ought to mean something. Every song I write comes from a piece of my life, the things I've experienced, the people who've crossed my path, the good times, the hard times, and the moments that leave a mark on you. I write my own songs because these are my stories, and I wouldn't know how to tell them any other way.

I'm not interested in creating an image or trying to be somebody I'm not. I've never believed in dressing up the truth just to make it more appealing. Some of my stories are worth smiling about, some carry a little weight, and some might make you look at me differently. That's life. We all have a story, and mine finds its way into my music.

Away from the songs, I'm a simple man. I believe in being straight with people, standing by my word, and letting a man be judged by who he is rather than what somebody says he ought to be.

If you listen to my music, I hope you find something that speaks to you. And if you don't agree with every word, that's all right, too. I'm not here to tell you how to live your life. I'm here to tell my stories the best way I know how.
